What do you do...
when you need to know that your critical Internet servers are running perfectly?
If it's a Web server, you probably open a browser and load a page on the server. For a mail server, you might use a mail client to login and check for messages. In the case of an AppleShare file server, you mount the remote server volume and try copying a file.
Similar actions could be run for many other Internet protocols. Running these tests would assure you that every aspect of the server, from the server software to TCP/IP and right down to the physical network cabling, is working perfectly.
That's exactly what PageSentry does...
at periodic intervals you choose, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
PageSentry is the perfect way to test all of your Internet servers, because it tests them just like you would. Or, more importantly, just like your clients would. When PageSentry detects any failure, it will let you know or take action to resolve the problem itself, making sure that your servers are always available.
Here at Maxum, we use PageSentry to monitor our main Web server, as well as our examples and search servers, DNS, Mail server, upstream FTP space leased from our ISP, and even our Internet connection itself. PageSentry's dynamic Web reports provide a summary of all the servers, and detailed reliability histories of each service. The link below is to our live PageSentry monitoring station:
