A Rumpus maintenance update, version 6.0.1, has been released. The new revision can be downloaded from the usual Maxum downloads page.

This is considered an important update for all Rumpus 6 users, as the new version corrects multiple crashing bugs which could potentially be used in denial of service attacks, effecting server security. The complete list of updates includes:

  1. The WFM file listing now displays correctly when the "Show File/Folder Icons" option is disabled, and when a secondary download link is not used.

  2. Corrected a bug that could cause the server to crash on some systems during FTP login.

  3. Patched a slow memory leak.

  4. Fixed an error that could cause login problems for WFM users when the "Always Require Login" option was disabled.

  5. Added a work-around for a bug in MSIE that caused the WFM footer to be displayed incorrectly.

  6. Corrected an HTTP processing bug that could cause Rumpus servers to crash when certain malformed HTTP requests are received.

  7. Corrected an FTP buffer overrun bug that will result in a server crash when an FTP user sends certain maliciously formed FTP commands.

As always, questions or comments about this or any version of Rumpus can be sent to support@maxum.com.
