iAssist's Web service modules allow you to install and manage the Apache Web server. Apache, which is by far the most popular Web server in use today, is fast, reliable, and, when managed by iAssist, easy to install and maintain.

Shown below is the "Web Server" iAssist controller, with the "Installation" tab selected.

Installing Apache 2 through iAssist is as simple as clicking the "Install Apache" button, then completing the "Basic Setup" fields.

With Apache installed and basic configuration complete, swtich to the iAssist "Run" tab to start your Apache Web server. In the screen shot below, notice that the Apache status shows that the server is now running. Also, the "Results" text area shows the response when the "Software Version" button is clicked.

iAssist's Web server management functions extend to managing virtual hosts and secure HTTP via the "Virtual Hosts" and "HTTPS" controllers. In addition, iAssist includes a copy of Maxum's popular Web server extension tool, NetCloak, which makes building dynamic, interactive Web sites easy. Below, the NetCloak controller is shown, with the "Setup" tab ready to help you configure Apache to send requests to NetCloak for processing.
